## What Mailchimp in Kronos lets your agents do

Once a Mailchimp account is connected to Kronos, your agents can —
within the permissions you grant — look things up across your
audiences, subscribers, and campaigns, keep subscribers up to date, and
send campaigns on your behalf.

**Read actions** (available when an agent has "Read only" or higher):

- Look up your audiences (the lists of subscribers in your account).
- List the subscribers in an audience and open a specific subscriber's
  details.
- Search for subscribers across all audiences or within one audience
  (by email or name).
- List a subscriber's tags and see your audience's fields (merge tags).
- List your segments and the subscribers inside a segment.
- List your campaigns and open a specific campaign to read its details.
- Review recent audience activity — up to the previous 180 days of
  daily aggregated stats for an audience.

**Write actions** (available only when an agent has "Read and write"):

- Add a new subscriber to an audience, or add-or-update one in a single
  step.
- Update an existing subscriber's details.
- Archive (unsubscribe) a subscriber from an audience.
- Add or remove tags on a subscriber.
- Add a subscriber to a segment, and create new segments.
- Add a private note to a subscriber.
- Send a campaign. (Regular campaigns send immediately; an RSS campaign
  sends according to its own schedule.)

You decide which agent gets which level, and you can switch any
permission off in one click without disconnecting the Mailchimp
account.

## Connecting Mailchimp

1. Open Kronos → **Connect** in the sidebar → **Applications** tab.
2. Click the **Mailchimp** card to open the detail dialog, then click
   the green **Connect** button.
3. You land on Mailchimp's sign-in screen — log in to the Mailchimp
   account you want to connect.
4. Mailchimp shows the access Kronos is requesting. Review it and
   approve.
5. You're sent back to Kronos at the **Already connected** tab with the
   new Mailchimp entry pre-selected.
6. From there you can name the connection and give your agents access.

You can connect more than one Mailchimp account; each appears as its
own connection with its own name.

## Telling connections apart

The Mailchimp management page shows the connected account right under
the "Mailchimp" title — your account name and login email. This is how
Kronos and you identify which Mailchimp account a connection
represents.

If you connect more than one Mailchimp account, each appears with its
own account label. Optionally you can add a short personal note next to
it (the "Your note for this connection" field) — labels like "Main
list", "Newsletter", or "Client – Acme" make it easier to scan a long
list. The note is yours only; agents always identify the account by the
underlying account + ID, not by the note.

## Giving an agent access

On the Mailchimp management page click **+ Add AI Agent**, pick the
agent from the dropdown, then choose:

- **Off** — the agent cannot touch this Mailchimp account.
- **Read only** — the agent can look up audiences, list and search
  subscribers, read tags and segments, list and read campaigns, and
  review activity, but cannot add, change, tag, or send anything.
- **Read and write** — the agent can do all of the above plus add and
  update subscribers, manage tags and segments, add notes, and send
  campaigns.

The same controls are available inside the AI Agent editor — scroll to
the **Connected Apps** section.

## Fine-grained overrides

Inside the permissions modal (the gear icon next to a Mailchimp account
in the agent editor or on the Mailchimp management page) you'll see the
full list of Mailchimp actions grouped by **Read tools** and **Write
tools**. Toggle individual actions on or off to override the preset.

Common combinations:

- **Reporting agent**: preset Read only, no overrides. The agent can
  answer "how did last week's campaign do?" and "how many people are in
  my newsletter audience?" but cannot change or send anything.
- **Subscriber-intake agent**: preset Read only, override `Add member
  to list` (and optionally `Add or update list member`) ON. The agent
  can capture new subscribers from chat but cannot send campaigns or
  delete anyone.
- **Tagging agent**: preset Read only, override `Add or remove member
  tags` ON. The agent can read subscribers and tag them, nothing else.
- **Full marketing assistant**: preset Read and write, no overrides.
  The agent can manage subscribers, tags, and segments, and send
  campaigns.
- **No-send assistant**: preset Read and write, override `Send
  campaign` OFF. The agent can do everything except actually send.

Click Save to apply. Changes take effect on the next message the agent
processes.

## Multiple Mailchimp accounts on the same agent

If an agent has access to two or more Mailchimp accounts, the agent
picks which account to use on every action based on context. When the
request is ambiguous ("send the campaign"), the agent will ask which
account to use.

You can cut ambiguity by turning the agent's access to one of the
accounts off, or by renaming the connections to obviously distinct
labels.

## When something goes wrong

- **"Needs reconnect"** badge — Mailchimp revoked or expired the
  connection. Open `/app/connect`, click Mailchimp, and walk through
  Connect again. Your per-agent permissions are preserved.
- **Agent says "I can't send that campaign"** — that agent's permission
  preset is Off or Read only without the send action enabled. Open the
  permissions modal and adjust.
- **Agent says the connected app is temporarily unavailable** —
  Mailchimp or the connection had a transient hiccup. Ask the user to
  retry in a moment. If it persists, check the Mailchimp management page
  for a "Needs reconnect" badge.

## Privacy

Kronos does NOT store the contents of your Mailchimp account. Each time
an agent uses a Mailchimp action, it fetches just-in-time through the
connection, uses what it needs to complete the task, and discards the
result. The audit log records that the action happened (which agent,
which action, when, and whether it succeeded), but not the underlying
data.

When you disconnect Mailchimp or cancel your Kronos subscription, the
connection and all per-agent permissions are deleted immediately.
